Signature Cook Mania Deep-Dish Lasagna

This lasagna is a masterclass in layers, featuring a rich, slow-simmered bolognese that boasts an incredible depth of flavor. By deglazing the meat with Cook Mania Beef Stock, we infuse the sauce with essential collagen and umami, resulting in a silky, restaurant-quality meat sauce that clings perfectly to every sheet of pasta.

Ingredients

  • Protein: 500g Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Base: 1 pouch Cook Mania Beef Stock (for the bolognese)
  • Aromatics: 1 tbsp Cook Mania Minced Garlic, 1 tbsp Cook Mania Minced Onion
  • Main Component: 1 box Lasagna noodles (no-boil or par-boiled), 800g Tomato passata
  • Finish: 500g Fresh mozzarella (shredded), 100g Parmesan cheese, and fresh basil
  • Seasoning: 1 tsp Dried oregano, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, sea salt, and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Sear: In a large skillet, Sear the ground beef until deeply browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Sauté: Add the Cook Mania Minced Onion and Cook Mania Minced Garlic. Cook for 2 minutes until the aromatics are soft and fragrant.
  3. Deglaze: Pour in the Cook Mania Beef Stock, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate all the savory browned bits.
  4. Reduce: Add the tomato passata and oregano. Simmer on low for 30 minutes until the sauce is thick and the Cook Mania stock has fully concentrated into the meat.
  5. Layer: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of sauce. Layer with lasagna noodles, followed by a generous spread of meat sauce and mozzarella. Repeat until the dish is full.
  6. Bake: Top with a heavy layer of Parmesan and mozzarella. Bake at 180°C for 35-40 minutes until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
